Burnt to a Crisp as Iconic Road House goes down in flames

Following the burning down of the iconic ‘Pure and Cool’ Road House in Malvern East, the Democratic Alliance in the City of Ekurhuleni is aggrieved to hear that the caller contacted the Fire Department once the blaze occurred, only to be told that Primrose Edenvale or Bedfordview Fire Stations do not have any fire engines that are working.
It is appalling that a municipality the size of Ekurhuleni does not have fire engines to assist communities in the event of a fire or emergency.
A Motion to council was accepted in the January 2024 council meeting, by Cllr Jaco Terblanche, stating that all fire trucks be prioritized for repairs, so that there is at least one working fire Truck per station, and fire stations be equipped with needed equipment and manpower to perform their mandate.
It’s a sad state of affairs that the ANC/EFF coalition of doom does not take the safety of its residents seriously and a private fire truck assisted on the scene.
