Date: 08 June 2023

Release: Immediate

Type: Media statement

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni calls on residents of Ward 31 to report any incidents of illegal dumping as well as refrain from illegal dumping.

The community of Dalpark have experienced increased levels of illegal dumping which is not only in contravention of environmental by-laws, but it creates an unsanitary environment in our communities which poses serious health risks.

The DA calls on residents to refrain from illegal dumping and we encourage residents to do their part and report incidents of illegal dumping to 0860 543 000.

The community is encouraged to utilise the Brakpan mini-dump site and Van Dyk Park mini-dump site to dispose of their waste.

Illegal dumping is not only detrimental to residents but also poses major health and safety issues due to the vermin they attract. Residents must join forces to put an end to illegal dumping for the betterment of our communities.
