The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni has retained Ward 43 with an overwhelming majority and saw significant growth in the ward.
The overwhelming victory achieved in ward 43 highlights the DA’s commitment to the residents and community. We pledge to continue to fight to ensure service delivery.
Residents came out in full force and voted for the DA, showing their continued trust in the party to ensure good governance is in place. We will remain accountable against our values of clean governance and continue to hold the ANC-led coalition* to account in the City of Ekurhuleni.
This message resonated with our voters in ward 43, and it puts into focus what we need to do for the 2021 local government elections. We will continue to fight to bring real hope and real change to the community. Our new Councillor, Cllr Lana Marais, will be dedicated and available to the community of ward 43 in escalating your long outstanding service delivery complaints. We welcome her into the DA Ekurhuleni Caucus and I am excited as the Caucus Leader, to have such a high calibre candidate join our ranks. The community deserves nothing less!
This by-election results bare testament to the decisive and unifying DA leadership. We will continue on our mandate of holding the ANC to account and working with communities to bring real change. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the DA in Ekurhuleni.
