Date: 14 October 2024
Release: Immediate
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) commends the agricultural initiative undertaken by Reahola Farming, which is led by the elderly members of Benoni, Tamboville.
This initiative has seen senior residents of the area undertake a community farming project in an effort to create jobs, promote sustainable farming, and increase local food security.
Their commitment to agricultural upliftment in our local economy and encouragement of knowledge sharing from generation to generation is truly the spirit of Ubuntu.
Reahola Farming cultivates organic vegetables and sells the fresh produce to locals.
This project is not only pursuing commercial purposes, but it also gifts free vegetables to residents in need.
We encourage residents to assist Reahola farming by offering their voluntary services to the project and purchase their fresh produce.
United, we can celebrate the contributions of our elderly and work towards achieving a sustainable and inclusive future for all.
The DA will continue improve connections between local businesses and potential buyers. An efficient local economy is beneficial to everyone.
