by Cllr. Simangele Sabe — DA Councillor in Ward 31, Ekurhuleni
Date: 31 August 2022
Release: Immediate
Type: Media statement
Earlier this month, the Councillors of Ward 31 came together with the South African National Civic Organization (SANCO) and the community of Tamboville and Wattville to celebrate women’s month.
At the gathering, issues such as Gendered Based Violence (GBV), were discussed.
GBV is a widespread problem in South Africa. It does not discriminate, any person of any race, age or sexual orientation can be a victim or perpetrator of GBV.
As the DA, we condemn any form of violence against any person and we would like to encourage our residents to report all cases of rape, sexual assault or any form of violence to a local police station near them.
We need to stand together and make our voices heard by publicly proclaiming that enough is enough!
