Date: 12 December 2022
Release: Immediate
Type: Media statement
The Democratic Alliance (DA) Ward Councillor for Ward 31, Cllr. Simangele Sabe, is pleased with the road repairs currently taking place on Ebienyalunga Street in Tamboville. This comes as a big relief to both motorists and residents who utilise the road daily.
This is the second road repair initiative taking place in the ward. In October 2022, numerous roads were resurfaced and patched in van Dyk Park.
Since being elected as ward councilor, I have prioritized pothole and road repairs in the ward. Potholes pose a danger to residents, especially during the rainy season when road visibility is limited.
I am therefore very grateful that months of hard work are finally showing results. Residents can now rest assured knowing that our roads are receiving the attention it deserves.
I furthermore would like to thank the residents of Tamboville and van Dyk Park for their patience. I know that it hasn’t been easy given the challenges of waste removal and power outages in the ward, however, things are slowly picking up and improvements are now visible across the City. Residents should start seeing more movement in the following year, especially where streetlight repairs and the maintenance of parks and cemeteries are concerned.
We welcome the progress being made on road repairs. It confirms the strides being made by the Multi-Party Coalition’s Back to Basics programme in improving service delivery across the City.
