The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ward 37, Ekurhuleni is pleased to announce the results of its ward committee election for members of the ward committee, which took place on Wednesday, 6th of April 2022, at the Alberton Civic Centre.
The election of a ward committee plays an important role in our communities as it allows for residents to actively take part in determining core municipal processes such as the Integrated Development Planning (IDP) and municipal budgeting in a manner that best addresses their needs.
These elected structures also provide a vital link between Ward Councillors and the community through processes such as public participation, at local government level where residents can make recommendations on ward issues and hold the Ward Councillor accountable on the execution of their duties.
Please see below for a list of positions and the elected representative:
· Erika Steinhobel — Women and Children
· Tina Heunis — SHRAC (Sports, Heritage, Recreation, arts and Culture)

· Sam Makhafola — Economic Development
· Marie Greyvenstein — Aged and disabled
· Louise Hlume — Youth
