DA — Ward 39 joint operation progress update
by Cllr. Jean Ingram — DA Councillor in Ward 39, Ekurhuleni
Date: 20 May 2022
Release: Immediate
Type: Media statement
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni would like to update the residents of Ward 39 on the progress that has been made regarding the Multi-Party Coalition’s efforts to place the City on a path of Back-to-Basics to ensure quality service delivery for its residents.
During April, two special operations were held, one being the issue of abandoned homes and where there were suspected unofficial building projects that were taking place within the ward.
We are happy to inform residents that these were looked into and the various transgressors have been issued fines to cease and or demolish where deemed necessary.
The second operation was held on the 20th of April 2022, where suspected illegal electrical connections were identified by residents and where necessary were removed and fines were issued. This is the first step in assisting residents of Ward 39 to tackle the continuous electricity outages that have been happening of late.
The DA in ward 39 plans to continue running these joint operations together with the City monthly. We would like to encourage residents to work together with us by reporting any suspicious activity to me, Cllr. Jean Ingram via WhatsApp on 065 808 8151
The DA will continue to work hard to drive the Multi-Party Coalition’s commitment to build the City of Ekurhuleni into a City that is responsive to the service delivery needs of residents.
