Release: Immediate
Type: Media statement
Earlier this month, the DA in Ward 31 alongside the South African National Civic Organization (SANCO) and members of the community, organised a community clean-up to raise awareness of the health hazard that illegal dumping has caused.
The Clean-up took place at Leachville, new Kleinfontein, where over 100 black bags were used in the clean-up, which covered the entire area being cleaned.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ward 31, is pleased to see that the community of Leachville is heeding the City’s call to join the fight to keep Ekurhuleni clean, by playing their part in keeping the area clean and creating a healthy pleasing environment.
Further, I welcome the progress by the Multi-Party Coalition Government in restoring waste removal services in various areas that were affected in the past couple of weeks.
The City remains committed to its mandate of providing quality waste management services to all residents to ensure that the objective of a cleaner and healthier Ekurhuleni is realized .
