DA Welcomes Official Re-opening of the Klopper Park Swimming Pool

The Democratic Alliance in Ward 92 welcomes the official re-opening of the public swimming pool in Klopper Park on the 1st of October 2022.

As a norm, the City’s pools close for the winter season and reopen on the first day of September to coincide with Spring Day.

However, this swimming pool was not opened on the first of September due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture has been working around the clock to ensure that pools across the City are opened to the public. To date the Swimming pool has had some maintenance work done along with an upgrade to the pumps and to the main pool.

As the ward councilllor for the area, I am pleased to see a positive turnaround happening under the new administration, It has been fantastic to interact with our community members who are already having fun in the pool.

Further, I would like to thank our Lifeguards for keeping the children and families of ward 92 safe. The City remains committed to maintaining a safe swimming and recreational environment for all.
