Date: 04 February 2025
Release: Immediate
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni welcomes the commencement of the long-awaited rehabilitation of Mimosa Street, located between Burgbos Street and Tambotie Street, in Van Dyk Park, Boksburg.
The scope of this project includes milling, asphalt surfacing, and road markings.
The project began on 13 January 2025, was set to be completed by 30 January 2025. We still await its finalisation.
This crucial project comes after a year of neglect, with the road left in a state of disrepair and causing inconvenience to local residents and motorists.
I have consistently raised this issue with the city’s Roads and Stormwater Department, and I am pleased that the DA’s persistent advocacy has led to this much-needed intervention.
The rehabilitation of Mimosa Street will bring significant relief to our residents, especially given the ongoing heavy rains experienced across Gauteng in recent months.
This project marks a positive step towards restoring the quality of roads in Ekurhuleni.
The DA will continue to closely monitor the construction project to ensure its timely completion and hold the city accountable to its service delivery promises.
