DA Welcomes Upgrades to Substation in Klopper Park

The Democratic Alliance in Ward 92 welcomes the upgrades done on the substation in Sonning Street, Klopper Park.

This area has had ongoing issues with unstable power as a result of overloading due to the area being old and having had little to no maintenance being done on the decaying electrical infrastructure over the years.

This has made life very difficult for residents, however as the Ward Councillor, I am pleased to say that under the new administration we are moving forward.

New, larger cables along with new fuses and circuit breakers have been installed in the main substation with an aim to stabilize power supply in the area.

As the DA, we would like to thank the Energy Department for assisting in such a speedy upgrade and doing the much-needed maintenance on the Sonning Street substation.

Under the previous administration this upgrade would have taken years to implement.
