The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni has slammed the Gauteng Energy Indaba hosted by the MEC Panyaza Lesufi for not starting timeously.

This key event aims to deliberate and formulate workable solutions to the energy crisis facing the province. Despite delegates being told to arrive at 7.45 AM to ensure a prompt 8:00 AM start. The event only began after 9:00 AM.

Important stakeholders, businesses and public representatives are in attendance for this event and the Premiere’s complete lack of urgency to start this meeting timeously showcases the uncaring attitude of the Premier and his senior delegates.

The Indaba was called under the mandate of ‘Getting the Province into Action’. However, the organiser’s inability to start on time shows it will take a lot more to get the Province into action.
