The Democratic Alliance (DA) have been inundated with calls and messages with regards to the poor service at Daveyton Main Clinic on Empilisweni Road.
The DA has received numerous complaints and video evidence from residents relaying these frustrations.
It is alleged that patient’s health conditions are often overlooked and misdiagnosed. Patients are often sent home with little to no care from the clinic.
This led to residents storming the office of the manager calling for an explanation on why they were being sent away as no valid explanation was given.
We have taken note of the complaints and as a result, will be conducting an unofficial site visit to the clinic to investigate these allegations further and to unearth any other challenges that may be faced by residents.
The DA envisions a healthcare system centred around the patient, giving precedence to each individual’s unique needs. The mother seeking prenatal care, the father grappling with a chronic illness, the child due for immunisation, or the elderly person needing regular health check-ups all deserve access to quality healthcare irrespective of their income, location, or background.
