Release: Immediate

Type: Media statement

The DA in Kwa-Thema welcomes the efforts to repair and maintain streetlights on Majola Street.

Majola Street is one of the main and busy streets in Kwa-Thema and seeing streetlights being repaired brings some sort of relief to residents considering the high levels of crime in and around the area.

With the high crime rate in Kwa-Thema these lights will work to assist SAPS and EMPD especially at night in order to make the community safer and increase visibility.

We would like to encourage and call on the City to continue to install and repair streetlights in the area.

We would also like to urge the community to keep a close eye on those who continue to vandalise and damage street lights and report them to their nearest SAPS.
