The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni continues to fight for its residents in Mooifontein as the community, along with the DA ward councillor have been lobbying and making representations to the CoE to address the issues of the deteriorating roads and infrastructure in the area.

Through numerous meetings with stakeholders, senior government officials and numerous petitions have finally yield results as the road between Birchleigh North and Norkem Park has been resurfaced and road markings will follow on this long overdue project.

Finally, this road has been rehabilitated following DA pressures and we would like to thank the community for the continued support and the strong representation — a unified community has won, at the end of the day. The many years of deterioration and poorly maintained road became a huge inconvenience and high-risk travel route as potholes seemingly grew larger over night and motorists vehicles were damaged. Severely compromising motorists safety.

The DA will not allow the failing EFF-led coalition to rob residents and communities of services. The DA will remain alert and ensure that those who are responsible for service delivery be held to account and perform in terms of their Constitutionally mandated obligations.
