Service Delivery Stalls under Doomsday Coalition

Once again, service delivery is suffering due to the poor performance of the ANC/EFF coalition.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni has been approached by disgruntled officials who are struggling to perform their duties and responsibilities due to the lack of PPE and basic tools of trade.
Currently, many departments do not have sufficient staff to adequately deal with the service delivery demands, while other departments are bloated and top-heavy.
Frustrated officials have told the DA that their morale is at an all-time low as they do not have vehicles to respond to service delivery problems, while others do not have items such as safety boots or overalls to perform their jobs, and others are bringing their personal tools to try to assist.
According to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the staff must have access to PPE and upon inspection, any PPE that is broken, damaged or very old needs to be replaced. Sadly, this is not the case!
While a lack of funding is often the excuse given, the new budget came into effect on 1 July 2023.
The DA is calling on the Executive Mayor of the failing coalition to act decisively! If the City doesn’t care about its employees, it certainly doesn’t care about its residents and communities.
