The DA in Ekurhuleni mourns the passing of former Councillor, Vusi Makhasi

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni is saddened by the passing of Vusi Makhasi over the weekend.

Vusi served diligently as a PR Councillor in Ward 41 in the suburbs of Marathon and Rodebult in Boksburg in the previous term from 2016–2021. Prior to becoming a councillor, Vusi worked as a field worker for the IEC and Stats SA. From 2014 he served as a Community Liaison Officer and as a DA activist.

Vusi was well-liked amongst his colleagues and will be remembered for being calm and approachable. He will be sorely missed.

Vusi is survived by his wife and four children. Our heartfelt condolences go out to them during this difficult time.
