The Democratic Alliance in the City of Ekurhuleni supports the World Wildlife Foundation’s Annual Earth Hour initiative.
Earth Hour takes place across the world at 8:30 pm on the 26th of March 2022. It is a movement of solidarity in 190 countries and territories concerned over environmental issues affecting the planet mainly focused on the harmful effects related to climate change.
The City of Ekurhuleni is part of the C40 Cities Network, which is a network of nearly 100 world-leading cities taking urgent action to confront the climate crisis and create a future where all citizens can thrive. This network is crucial partner of the WWF’s Earth Hour initiative.
The DA continues to engage with role players in the sector for sustainable solutions to environmental issues the City is confronted with, and encourages stakeholders to engage the City in partnerships with the aim of formulating and implementing strategies that offset the harmful effects of climate change.
