Release: Immediate

Type: Media statement

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni welcomes the grass-cutting and cleaning taking place in Ward 31.

Residents have raised numerous concerns about the long, overgrown grass in certain parts of the ward as it poses a danger to residents and motorists and provides a hiding place for criminals.

After numerous reports and escalations, I am pleased to see that the City has finally responded by cutting grass and cleaning public spaces across the ward.

The teams are on the ground and are currently in Dalpark Extensions 6, 9 and 11, and can be seen working in areas such as Airport Road, Corner Byron and Lawrence Street, and Lauw Street.

We welcome the progress being made on the much-needed grass-cutting and cleaning in the area.

Residents can rest assured knowing the grass is finally being cut and that the public areas are being cleaned across the ward.
