Name: Hector Bogopane

Ward: Ward 56, Ekurhuleni

My name is Hector Bogopane, and I am the Democratic Alliance Ward 56 Candidate in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE).

I am standing as a Ward Councillor because I believe in fairness, freedom, opportunity and diversity. I want the same things from the municipality as all residents in my ward — dependable electricity, clean water, reliable refuse removal, protection from criminals, well-maintained roads, and effective by-law enforcement.

The major issues affecting the ward are the lack of housing, lack of community safety, increasing poverty, illegal dumping poor water infrastructure and unreliable electricity.

I envision for Ward 56 a community that every resident feels safe to reside and the community enjoys all the opportunities, facilities and services that the municipality of the city has to offer under the Democratic Alliance.

As a faith leader, I plan to involve community leaders, CPF’s, youth organisations, Ward committees and established engagement forums to engage to better our community in a number of ways.

I believe that it is the issues that make me cry and me grieve are a sign that I was born to solve them.

· The burst water pipes, illegal dumping and leaking sewerage makes me grieve

· Poverty and social ills makes me cry
