Name: Senzo Victor Khumalo
Ward: Ward 41, Ekurhuleni
My name is Senzo Victor Khumalo, and I am the Democratic Alliance Ward 41 Candidate in Ekurhuleni.
I decided to stand as a Councillor to unite the community of Ward 41 and share values of diversity and opportunity. I believe in the DA’s policy for freedom, fairness, and opportunity for all. Similarly, I want to bring real change and a better life for all those who reside in Ward 41.
I believe that the DA is the only party that can bring the change and good governance needed to turn the failing City of Ekurhuleni around. Our communities are crying for services and it’s time for a capable government that can deliver.
During my tenure as Councillor, I will be focusing on the following issues:
- Crime and criminal activities
- Teenage pregnancy
- Drugs and substance abuse, particularly among the youth
- Illegal dumping
- Access to emergency services
- Rampant power outages
My vision is to start community programmes that will uplift the community. These programmes will address the high unemployment that is plaguing the community, access to the economy and poverty. I want to form partnerships with the local business fraternity and mobilise them to play a socially responsible role by assisting with training, skills development and contribute to the wellness of the community.
I am a part of a Community WhatsApp Group, which allows me to engage with the community on a regular basis. Currently, I am a Street Leader that form a Community Structure that controls and directs the affairs of the Community. We occasionally patrol streets at night, with the intent of curbing or minimising crime within the Ward. We also do checks and vetting community members when there’s employment opportunity via our Ward Councillor.
The community of Ward 41 deserve to enjoy consistent and uninterrupted services as well as access to adequate healthcare. I want to champion these issues and I am ready to serve the residents of Ward 41.
